The trip back to Giedi Prime was quite uneventful - exactly as Cibus Auctor had predicted. Disembarking at Harko City, he headed straight for the airbus and having traversed that last leg of the journey to the Harkonnen Palace, the Battlemaster tried not to think of anything. It was easier that way - and also - much safer, for his own peace of mind. He would now face his employer, his master, his Regent...his reason for everything he did, usually in her name. But was it the truth, any longer?
Shaking off uneasy thoughts, the Battlemaster stepped off the airbus and proceeded down a narrow staircase that led into one of the back entrances to the Palace and stopped briefly, to confirm his identification with the guard.
"Welcome back, Count Kelg," the armed guard greeted the Battlemaster, briefly and stepped aside, allowing Auctor entry within. Without dispensing so much as a nod in the guard's direction, Cibus Auctor slipped within and vanished behind the closing door.
* * * Having first stopped at his palace chambers, the Battlemaster did not waste any time getting caught up on the latest news. So, Rose and Sebastein had gone to the funeral as expected...and they had also...returned. All the better, Cibus thought furtively as determined strides crossed the way to Rose's office. He so hated to waste time. Undoubtedly, now that the Baroness was back, she would have other work for him to do, so he could stop thinking about --Amyssa Magorian! Nearly ready to kick himself in the teeth, Auctor furrowed his brows and tried to dismiss his thoughts of the Ixian. Too often did they now torment his brain, unwilling to depart from him.
Disgusted with himself, Cibus pondered whether he'd ever awaken from this nightmare - but the waking moments of his arrival did not seem to let go of the Ixian Ambassador all too willingly. Haunted by the memory of the kiss she had given him, the Harkonnen shuddered - a jolt of energy suddenly going up and down his spine - as if a bolt of electricity had suddenly surged throug him. Damn her, the Battlemaster swore inwardly, stopping before the door that led directly to Rose Harkonnen's office. All he needed now, was a few seconds of silence, to calm himself before going in.
The guard recognized him instantly, but Cibus still gave his identification, regardless. For all these fools realized, he could have been a ghola assassin, in disguise. As the guards stepped aside, the Battlemaster approached the door and knocked twice. His left hand machinally moved to a hidden chest pocket, as he reassured himself that the plans to the Caladan castle were still there, intact. He had made copies, of course.
